Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling. I’ve been reading them since I was 12, and will read them to my kids. I’m sad it’s over.

    You had the great good luck to start when the first book was age appropriate and finish, older, when it was still age appropriate. i worry that someone who doesn’t have to wait two years to get her hands on the next one will soon be over her head emotionally. Book seven is significantly darker and scarier that book One. But maybe I’m being a namby pampy. The Brother’s Grimm were no picnic!
